Description & Applications

ICCP Impressed Current Cathodic Protection System

Complete impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) systems for large vessels, FPSO units, and offshore platforms. Provides active, controlled cathodic protection using external power supply and inert anodes — ideal where sacrificial anodes alone cannot provide adequate coverage.

System Components

  • Titanium-based MMO (Mixed Metal Oxide) anodes or platinized titanium anodes
  • Reference electrodes (Ag/AgCl or Zinc) for potential monitoring
  • Power supply / transformer-rectifier unit with automatic potential control
  • Junction boxes, cabling, and hull penetration fittings
  • Control panel with remote monitoring capability

Key Advantages over Sacrificial Anodes

  • Adjustable current output — adapts to changing conditions
  • Lower long-term cost for large structures
  • Reduced hull drag (fewer external anodes mounted)
  • Longer maintenance intervals between drydocking
  • Suitable for very large vessels and complex geometries

Typical Applications

  • FPSO and FSO units
  • Large bulk carriers and tankers
  • Offshore platform jackets and risers
  • Subsea pipelines (shore-powered)
  • Port infrastructure and jetties
