Marine Ventilation Fans — Axial, Centrifugal & Blower Systems
CCS-approved marine ventilation fans: axial fans, centrifugal fans, and blower units for engine rooms, cargo holds, accommodation, and hazardous areas. 25 models available.
Need CCS-Approved Ventilation Fans for Engine Room, Cargo Hold, or Accommodation?
Marine ventilation is a class requirement, not an option — and every space on a vessel has specific airflow, pressure, and fire-safety requirements that general industrial fans cannot meet. hicool supplies 25 configurations of CCS-approved marine axial fans, centrifugal fans, and blowers designed for engine room ventilation, cargo hold air exchange, accommodation HVAC supply, and pump room gas extraction.
Marine Ventilation Fans — Axial, Centrifugal & Blower, CCS Approved
Our marine fan catalogue covers three main categories across 25 product configurations: axial-flow fans for high-volume engine room and cargo hold ventilation, centrifugal fans for duct-based HVAC and high-pressure extraction systems, and portable/fixed blowers for tank ventilation and emergency use. All products are designed per CCS Marine Product Rules and can be supplied with the manufacturer’s BV, ABS, DNV, LR, NK, KR, RINA or RS certificates as required by class.
Axial fans are available in direct-drive and belt-drive configurations, with impeller diameters from 300 mm to 1,600 mm. Centrifugal fans include single-inlet and double-inlet designs with backward-curved or forward-curved impellers for different pressure/flow requirements. All fans feature marine-grade IP56 motors, vibration-dampening mounts, and corrosion-resistant construction (epoxy-coated steel or optional stainless steel for chemical tankers).
Fire dampers, silencers, anti-vibration mounts, and transition ductwork are available as accessories. We supply both individual fans and complete ventilation system packages matched to the vessel’s ventilation schedule.

Product Range Overview
| Type | Air Volume (m³/h) | Static Pressure (Pa) | Application | FOB Range (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Axial Fan (Direct Drive) | 2,000–80,000 | 100–500 | Engine room supply/exhaust | $800–$8,000 |
| Axial Fan (Belt Drive) | 5,000–120,000 | 200–800 | Cargo hold, large E/R | $1,500–$15,000 |
| Centrifugal (Single Inlet) | 500–30,000 | 500–3,000 | HVAC duct, accommodation | $600–$6,000 |
| Centrifugal (Double Inlet) | 2,000–60,000 | 500–2,500 | High-volume HVAC | $1,200–$12,000 |
| Portable Blower | 1,000–8,000 | 100–300 | Tank entry, emergency | $500–$2,000 |
| Explosion-Proof Fan | 1,000–40,000 | 200–1,500 | Pump room, cargo area | $2,000–$20,000 |
Axial vs Centrifugal — Which Fan Type Do You Need?
| Feature | Axial Fan | Centrifugal Fan |
|---|---|---|
| Best For | High volume, low pressure | Medium volume, high pressure |
| Typical Use | Engine room, cargo hold, open spaces | Ductwork, HVAC, accommodation |
| Pressure Capability | Up to ~800 Pa | Up to ~3,000 Pa |
| Space Efficiency | In-line mounting (compact) | Requires scroll housing (larger) |
| Noise | Higher at same duty point | Generally quieter |
| Cost | Lower | Higher |
Rule of thumb: Use axial fans for engine room and cargo hold ventilation where high air volume matters more than pressure. Use centrifugal fans for ducted HVAC systems, accommodation zones where noise is critical, and any system requiring static pressure above 500 Pa.
Common Applications
- Engine room supply and exhaust ventilation (SOLAS requirement)
- Cargo hold ventilation for bulk carriers and general cargo vessels
- Accommodation HVAC air handling (centrifugal type with silencers)
- Pump room gas extraction on tankers (explosion-proof type)
- Emergency/portable tank ventilation for confined space entry
- Galley exhaust and laundry ventilation
Recent Supply Example
A shipyard in India ordered a complete ventilation fan package for a 32,000 DWT chemical tanker: 6 × axial fans (engine room), 4 × centrifugal fans (accommodation HVAC), 2 × explosion-proof axial fans (pump room), and accessories (fire dampers, silencers, flex connectors). All CCS-certified. Delivered FOB Shanghai within 40 days. Total package value: ~USD 52,000.

Fan Selection Guide
Identify Compartment
Engine room (high volume), cargo hold (moisture control), accommodation (low noise), or hazardous area (Ex-proof required). Each has different class rule requirements.
Calculate Airflow
Engine room: air changes per SOLAS. Cargo hold: per cargo type ventilation requirements. We size fans from your ventilation plan or vessel GA.
Fan Type
Axial: high volume, low pressure — engine room supply/exhaust. Centrifugal: high pressure — long ductwork runs. Auxiliary blower: boiler forced draft.
Hazardous Area Rating
Cargo pump room: Ex d IIB T4 mandatory. Battery room: Ex d IIC T3. Standard compartments: non-Ex. Specify zone classification for correct motor selection.
