Complete HVAC & Refrigeration Component Supply for Marine and Cold Chain
Marine HVAC and refrigeration systems are critical to vessel operations — from accommodation air conditioning and bridge climate control to provision cold rooms, cargo refrigeration on reefer vessels, and fish hold cooling on fishing vessels. These systems depend on dozens of individual components working in concert: expansion valves regulating refrigerant flow, solenoid valves controlling circuit logic, compressors providing the thermodynamic work, and heat exchangers transferring thermal energy.
hicool supplies individual components and spare parts for marine HVAC and refrigeration systems. We do not manufacture complete refrigeration plants — instead, we focus on the components that ship operators, repair yards, and refrigeration contractors need most frequently: valves, compressor parts, heat exchanger elements, controls, and cold room hardware.
Expansion Valves
Thermostatic expansion valves (TEV/TXV) are the most commonly replaced component in any refrigeration circuit. We supply expansion valves compatible with R22, R134a, R404A, R507A, R407C, R410A, and ammonia (R717) refrigerants. Available types include:
- Thermostatic expansion valves — externally equalized, with interchangeable orifice inserts for capacity adjustment
- Electronic expansion valves — stepper-motor driven, for precision superheat control in modern inverter systems
- Float valves — high-side and low-side float valves for ammonia flooded evaporator systems
- Capacity range: 0.5–200 kW nominal cooling capacity
Solenoid Valves
Solenoid valves control refrigerant flow in system circuits — liquid line shut-off, hot gas bypass, defrost injection, and pump-down control. We supply direct-acting and pilot-operated solenoid valves for all common refrigerants including ammonia. Coil voltages: 24V DC, 110V AC, 220V AC, 380V AC.
Filter Driers & Sight Glasses
Filter driers remove moisture and particulate contamination from refrigerant circuits — essential for system longevity. We supply replaceable-core and sealed (disposable) filter driers for liquid lines and suction lines, plus moisture-indicating sight glasses for system diagnostics.
Compressor Spare Parts
Refrigeration compressor overhaul is a routine maintenance activity on vessels. We supply OEM-compatible spare parts for major marine refrigeration compressor brands — piston assemblies, valve plates, gasket sets, shaft seals, oil pumps, bearings, and suction/discharge valve reeds. Applicable compressor types:
- Reciprocating compressors — open-type and semi-hermetic, 2–16 cylinders
- Screw compressors — single-screw and twin-screw, oil-injected
- Applicable refrigerants: R22, R134a, R404A, R507A, R717 (ammonia)
Cold Room Components
For cold storage construction and repair — both shore-based and shipboard provision rooms — we supply cold room door hardware (hinges, latches, heater frames, gaskets), insulation panel accessories, LED cold room lighting, and evaporator unit mounting hardware. All components rated for operating temperatures from +10°C down to -40°C.
Condensers & Evaporators
We supply air-cooled condensers, water-cooled (shell-and-tube) condensers, and evaporator coils for system replacement and capacity upgrades. For our full range of WKDL industrial air coolers (evaporators), see the dedicated Air Coolers sub-category page.
Why Source HVAC Parts Through hicool
Marine refrigeration systems often use a mix of components from different manufacturers, accumulated over years of service and repair. Finding the correct replacement valve, compressor gasket set, or cold room part can be frustrating when OEM supply channels are slow or expensive. hicool maintains cross-reference capability across major refrigeration component brands and can source compatible replacements from Chinese manufacturers — typically at 40–60% of OEM pricing, with the same specifications and material quality.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you cross-reference parts from European refrigeration component brands?
Yes. We maintain cross-reference data for expansion valves, solenoid valves, filter driers, and sight glasses from major European brands. Provide the original part number or nameplate data and we will identify a compatible replacement with matching specifications.
Do you supply components for ammonia (R717) refrigeration systems?
Yes. We supply ammonia-rated expansion valves (float type), solenoid valves, check valves, oil separators, and compressor spare parts. Ammonia components require specific material compatibility (no copper, brass, or zinc alloys in contact with refrigerant) — all our ammonia-rated parts are manufactured accordingly.
What refrigerants do you support?
We supply components for R22, R134a, R404A, R507A, R407C, R410A, and R717 (ammonia). For vessels transitioning to low-GWP refrigerants (R449A, R452A, R1234ze), we can source compatible valves and controls — contact us with your specific system details.
Do you supply complete refrigeration systems or only components?
We focus on components and spare parts — valves, compressor parts, heat exchangers, controls, and cold room hardware. For complete marine refrigeration plants (condensing units, packaged chillers), we can source through our partner network but this is handled as a project-by-project inquiry.
What is the typical lead time for HVAC components?
Standard valves and filter driers: 1–2 weeks. Compressor spare parts: 2–4 weeks. Cold room doors and custom hardware: 3–5 weeks. We maintain stock of high-turnover items (common TEV sizes, solenoid valve coils) for faster delivery.
