COLREG 72
Marine-Certified Electrical Components for Shipboard & Industrial Systems
Electrical components form the backbone of every shipboard power distribution and control system — from the main switchboard down to individual motor starters, alarm panels, and navigation light circuits. Marine electrical equipment must meet stringent classification society requirements for vibration resistance, temperature range, insulation class, and electromagnetic compatibility that far exceed standard industrial specifications.
Hicool supplies marine-certified electrical components from Chinese manufacturers holding CCS, BV, and DNV type approvals. Our product range covers the low-voltage switchgear and controlgear components most frequently needed for newbuilding, retrofit, and spare parts procurement. Every item ships with classification approval certificates and test reports per IEC 60947 series standards.
Switchgear & Controlgear Components
Our contactor range covers AC contactors from 9A to 800A (AC-3 rated) for motor starting and power switching applications. Auxiliary contact blocks, mechanical interlocks, and star-delta starter assemblies are available as accessories. Control relays include miniature plug-in relays (MY, LY series equivalents), time delay relays (on-delay, off-delay, star-delta timers), and monitoring relays (phase sequence, voltage, current).
Circuit protection includes miniature circuit breakers (MCBs) from 0.5A to 63A per IEC 60898, molded case circuit breakers (MCCBs) from 16A to 1,600A per IEC 60947-2, and motor protection circuit breakers with adjustable thermal and magnetic trip settings. All breakers are available in B, C, and D trip curves as required by the circuit application.
Navigation Lights & Signal Equipment
Navigation lights are safety-critical equipment governed by the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREG 72). We supply LED and incandescent navigation lights for vessels of all sizes — masthead, sternlight, sidelights (port/starboard), anchor, not-under-command, and towing lights. All navigation lights carry CCS type approval and meet the visibility range requirements specified in COLREG Annex I.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you cross-reference electrical components to Schneider, ABB, or Siemens part numbers?
Yes. Provide the OEM part number (e.g., Schneider LC1D25, ABB A16-30-10) and we will identify functionally equivalent components from our CCS-approved manufacturers with matching electrical ratings, mounting dimensions, and auxiliary contact configurations.
Are your navigation lights COLREG compliant?
Yes. All navigation lights carry CCS type approval and meet the visibility range, chromaticity, and horizontal/vertical sector requirements of COLREG 72 Annex I. Test reports per IEC 60945 are included.
Do you supply marine-type circuit breakers with vibration resistance?
Yes. Our marine-rated MCBs and MCCBs are tested per IEC 60068-2-6 for vibration resistance (2-100 Hz, 4g acceleration) and IEC 60068-2-27 for shock resistance, as required by classification society rules.
Can you supply complete panel component kits?
Yes. Provide your panel BOM (bill of materials) or single-line diagram and we will quote the complete component package — contactors, breakers, relays, terminals, busbars, and wiring accessories — as a single consolidated shipment.
What is the lead time for marine electrical components?
Standard components (contactors, relays, MCBs) are typically available from stock within 1-2 weeks. Navigation lights and MCCBs above 400A may require 3-6 weeks depending on type approval requirements.
